Silver Sperry Top-Siders
With Memorial Day rapidly approaching (okay, so not rapidly enough for me), it's time to pay annual homage to the Nautical trend and pay our respects—and hard-earned cash—to the all-American classic shoe, the boat shoe. The modern boat shoe was invented in 1935, when Paul Sperry noticed his dog's ability to run easily over ice without slipping, and so cut thin slits into the soles of his shoes to create a paw-like grip. Sperry's boat shoes are still the preferred choice of prepsters and yachters, but don't rule them out because you're landlocked. They're everywhere for Spring and in every shade and pattern. Esp love these metallic leather Sperry's with cropped/cuffed jeans, white pants, and flirty skirts.
